In an Emergency, How Can I Hide a Bruise?

It almost never fails. Even if youre faithfully using your Bruises Be Banned to reduce or prevent bruising, no product is 100% effective 100% of the time. Just when you have a big event to go to, or you are heading out to enjoy the first lovely spring day of the year in shorts and a tank top, you look down and notice that you have a large, blotchy bruise on your arm or your leg. Bruises are one way to get lots of stares and a lot of unwanted questions, but remember that you don't necessarily need to cover up in jeans and long sleeved shirts. Take some time and raid your cosmetics drawers, because it is completely possible to cover up bruises, even ones that are dark and turning black and blue.

First off, we need to attempt to reduce the bruise's swelling as much as possible. A washcloth packed with ice will help get this done, or a washcloth soaked in ice water could probably do the same thing. Keep this treatment to less than fifteen minutes or so, or you could find yourself becoming really uncomfortable. This process will help you reduce any noticeable swelling, and if you are really fortunate, it may even cause the bruise to fade a little by breaking up the blood clot just below the skin.

What we need to do now is to examine the colors of the bruised area. If there is a lot of blue in the bruise, select a concealer that contains a little more yellow than what you would usually use. You should choose a concealer that has worked well for you (your best choice is likely one that is creamy, not dry), apply it to the bruise. Carry the concealer beyond the edges of the bruise. This will provide you a more natural appearance, instead of a blotch of color that might look just as bad as the uncovered bruise.

Let the concealer dry thoroughly, and see if you need another layer. Depending how thinly you spread it, you might. You may wish to use a setting powder over the concealer. This can help keep the concealer from brushing or flaking away. This will also bring down any shine that you have to worry about on your bruise. A number 1 brush can be used to very nicely to this effect.

If you going to be dealing with smaller bruises, you might want to forgo the concealer and use eye shadow instead. Whatever your skin color, make certain that you are only using cosmetics that are designed for own skin tone. For example, if you are trying to hide bruises with a harsh red or purple tint, consider using a suitable green eye shadow to reduce the heat of the hot colors, but if your bruises shade more towards blue, consider using more of the yellows.

There are lots of tips and tricks to hide bruises. Always remember that you should look for a solution to banish bruises entirely, but also keep tips in mind in case of an emergency.
