Getting The Personal Touch Online
One of the great things about the World Wide Web is the amount of information we can access. Never before have we been able to retrieve so much information without leaving the comfort of our own backyards. If you want to know what life is like in say, Bhutan, we can just type it into our search engines and, viola; all kinds of references pop up on our screens.
All those things took time to get together. We'd have to put a roll of film in our cameras or a reel and make sure the film didn't get stuck or chewed up by all the turning. Plus, we had to be very careful about exposing the film to light before it was processed or all those neat pictures we took would be lost to darkness.
Maybe it's a century-changing karma thing. Great minds are given a boost by the universe and wonderful things are invented and implemented to make our lives easier. Can you imagine taking each article of clothing and rubbing it across a washboard every week to get it clean? Or having a relative, say your sister or brother, move 500 miles away and having nothing but letters from them for the next ten years because they're too far away to visit?
Plus, you can virtually shop for anything on the internet, even groceries. Shopping online has become a pretty normal thing to do. The banks caught on early and provided their customers with debit cards, so you could spend your money online. Almost every retail company has some kind of outlet for buying their stuff online either through their Web site or through another site like eBay or Amazon.
Most of us though, have gone completely digital. With the storage capacities of our computers, we no longer have to create photo albums unless we want to. And creating those albums can accomplished with a click of the print and proper photo paper to print on. We can even plug our cameras or computers into the television and watch the videos without all the equipment set-up of the old projectors and mini screen - unless we want to.
Trust is a big issue and people want to believe in the companies they do business with. That's an inherent quality for most people and the internet has put a damper on that personal interaction. Most businesses are addressing this deficiency by allowing their customers to learn more about them.
